Green iguanas are expert climbers and prefer to stay high in the canopy, often 40–50 feet above the ground.
Green Iguanas have this ability called autotomy, it allows them to escape if a predator catches them by the tail. The detached tail wiggles on the ground to distract the attacker while the iguana escapes. While the tail does grow back, the new one is usually shorter, less colorful, and not as perfectly shaped as the original.
EVERY SPECIES COUNT
Green Iguanas are going through habitat loss due to deforestation, hunting for meat and pet trade as well as climate change while being an invasive species.
