Burmese pythons are among the largest snake species in the world. They can reach lengths of up to 23 feet (7 meters) or even longer. The record for the longest Burmese python is over 27 feet (8.23 meters).
When they are young, Burmese pythons will spend equal time on the ground and in the trees. But are they grow larger they tend to stay on the ground because the trees can’t hold them anymore.
EVERY SPECIES COUNT
Burmese Pythons face threats from habitat loss, hunting for their skin, and collection for the exotic pet trade. Wetland destruction and human encroachment have impacted some wild populations throughout their natural range. International trade of the species is regulated to help protect wild populations and prevent overexploitation.
