Carpet Pythons get their name from the beautiful, intricate patterns on their scales, which resemble the designs found on traditional carpets.
A Carpet Python’s patterned skin helps it blend into its surroundings, making it difficult for both predators and prey to spot.
Carpet Pythons are excellent climbers and can often be found resting in trees, where they hunt birds and small mammals.
EVERY SPECIES COUNT
Although Carpet Pythons are currently listed as Least Concern, they can be affected by habitat loss, road mortality, and persecution by people who fear snakes. Protecting natural habitats and promoting awareness about the important role snakes play in ecosystems helps ensure the continued survival of this species in the wild.
