  • Bactrian camels have two humps, helping them store fat for harsh environments.
  • They can survive extreme temperatures, from freezing winters to hot summers.
  • Their thick fur protects them during cold months and is shed in warmer seasons.

While domesticated Bactrian camels are common, their wild relatives are critically endangered. Habitat loss and competition with livestock continue to threaten wild populations. Emirates Park Zoo raises awareness about camel species and the importance of conserving animals adapted to extreme climates.
