  • Black and white tegus are one of the largest lizards in the Americas, often growing 4–5 feet long including their tail.

EVERY SPECIES COUNT

In their native South American range, black and white tegus are classified as Least Concern because they are widespread and abundant. However, they still face human-related threats such as being hunted for their skin and meat and collected for the pet trade.
