DID YOU KNOW?

  • Male blackbuck are known for their stunning spiral horns, which can reach up to 70 cm.
  • Their name comes from the males’ striking dark-brown (almost black) coats.
  • They are one of the fastest antelopes, reaching speeds of over 80 km/h.

Blackbuck populations are increasing thanks to conservation efforts, but they still face threats from habitat loss and hunting. Emirates Park Zoo raises awareness of grassland conservation in the Indian subcontinent.
