  • The common eland is the second-largest antelope in the world.
  • They produce a unique clicking sound when they walk, possibly to keep the herd together.
  • Despite their size, they are excellent jumpers and can leap over 2 meters from a standstill!

Eland populations remain stable, but they face habitat loss and competition with livestock. Emirates Park Zoo educates guests about the importance of savanna herbivores.
