Reticulated giraffes have the most striking coat pattern of all giraffe subspecies, with sharp, net-like lines.
Their long tongues, up to 45 cm, are dark to protect them from sunburn.
They only sleep for short bursts, sometimes just 5 minutes at a time!
EVERY SPECIES COUNT
Reticulated giraffes have declined dramatically in the wild due to habitat loss and poaching. Emirates Park Zoo helps raise awareness about giraffe conservation and the importance of protecting savanna ecosystems.
